Are you a Mesivta Bochur currently in tenth, eleventh or twelfth grade? Do you have an intense thirst to learn about Eretz Yisroel by experiencing it with experts who share your dream? Are you ready for inspiration that will last a lifetime? If you answered 'yes', the Aderes HaTorah Summer Experience is fashioned for you.
Scheduled for the summer Bein Hazmanim season, the Aderes HaTorah Summer Experience is a touring camp geared to serious American Mesivta Bochurim. It is the ultimate tour of Eretz Yisroel surpassing anything else of its kind. Instilling a genuine love for Eretz Yisroel, Am Yisroel and Yahadus is the primary goal. The summer experience premiered in the summer of 2010; an overwhelming positive outcome and success permeated those who participated. Every Bochur left with a strong connection to Eretz Yisroel which will IY"H last a lifetime.
The 2012 summer trip is scheduled to depart from NY on July 25, the 6th day of Av. The agenda is intentionally designed to begin right before Tisha B’Av. Is there a more appropriate way to embark on a trip of such spiritual magnitude than to mourn over the Churban Bais Hamikdosh? Last year, we drove straight from the airport to Har Hatzofim to tear kriya over the Makom HaMikdash. We recited Megillas Eicha at one of the gates of Har Habayis literally feet from the Makom HaMikdash.
We will arrive back in NY on August 19, the 2nd of Rosh Chodesh Elul. We return on the threshold of the Elul Zman with awareness and a spiritual high incomparable to anything ever felt before.
Aderes HaTorah Summer Experience utilizes the campus of Yeshivas Aderes HaTorah. Nestled in the heart of Yerushalayim on the historic Rechov Shmuel HaNavi, the location is pivotal in providing the pure essence of living in Yerushalayim.
The up-to-date recently renovated dormitories are spacious, clean and comfortable. Three delicious, nutritious meals are served daily on premises. Each morning begins with Shachris, Seder, and Shiur. The learning experience continues as the afternoons and evenings are spent touring and developing an intense love for Eretz Yisroel. The day ends with nightly shiurim and shmoozes.
SAFETY
The safety of the boys is paramount; tireless effort goes to ensure the health and safety of everyone 24/7. In addition, we carry full liability insurance coverage. We purchase medical insurance for each camper prior to the trip. Whenever we travel to remote areas, we are accompanied by an armed escort and a Chovesh (EMT).
SHABBOS
Shabbos is spent in the Yeshiva. The seudos serve as memorable quality time with the married staff. One weekend is spent away from the Yeshiva when the entire camp travels to experience a Shabbos in the North of Eretz Yisroel.
SUPERVISION
It is integral to The Aderes HaTorah Summer Experience to ensure the Ruchnius welfare of each boy is maintained. Supervision of the boys is ongoing throughout. Boys are not allowed to leave the premises unsupervised. IPODs with video capability are not permitted. There are no "Off Shabbosim," and boys may not accept invitations from random hosts. Special permission is required to visit family living in Eretz Yisroel.
HIGHLIGHTS
A comprehensive schedule of last year’s experience may be may be viewed by
clicking here. Here is a vivid description of some highlights:
- We leased a few hundred feet in a vineyard and each boy was koneh his area to harvest the grapes, to learn firsthand and be mekayem Mitzvos HaTluyos B’Aretz
- We visited many Gedolim. The boys heard a shmooz from Rav Yitzchok Scheiner, Shlita. They spent precious time with Rav Shteinman, Shlita. We have many guest speakers, Rav Yehuda Oelbaum, Rav Yisroel Reisman and Rav Shmuel Bloom to name a few.
- The davening by Kever Rochel and many other Mekomos HaKedoshim made an everlasting impression. Even the most reserved Yeshiva boys sang Kol B’Rama hand over shoulder and danced together. "V’Shavu Vonim L’Gvulum" took on new meaning.
- We thoroughly combed through sacred cities like Yerushalayim, Chevron, and Tzfas.
- We hiked, jeeped, toured, and swam in the north, south, east, & west of our land. Emulating the pasuk, "Kum HisHalech B'Aretz, L'archa uL’rachba, Ki Lecha Etnena." The message to the boys was clear. While they reside in Chutz La’Eretz, Eretz Yisroel is truly home.
